Kitt Camplese serves as a senior instructional designer in the eLearning Design and Innovation Group (eLDIG) within Smeal College of Business, The Pennsylvania State University. Kitt has been with Smeal since 2007. In that time, she has established herself as an innovative learning designer, often working on many interesting and engaging courses. In this role, she provides support to her team and manages the team’s course portfolio. She works directly with faculty authors and instructors to help envision the course structure, create objectives, design engaging learning opportunities, and builds assessments. Kitt is also involved in aspects of faculty support and development, often working with her faculty so they can improve student engagement.
Kitt has been designing online learning at Penn State University since 2003. Prior to joining the Smeal College of Business, she spent two years working as a learning designer in the Penn State World Campus. During her time at World Campus, she worked on both online and hybrid courses and projects. Her first few years at Penn State were spent as a learning designer for the Prevention Research Center within the College of Health and Human Development. While at the Prevention Research Center, she was passionate about working with leading researchers in the field to develop evidence based programs and curricula (PATHS) for children with behavioral risk factors. She also helped in the implementation and evaluation of these programs and curriculum into the Harrisburg and Baltimore City School District.
Kitt has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Instructional Systems from Penn State University.
