Ask eLDIG: How Can I Improve Accessibility in My Course?

Did you know? You can view your Canvas course Ally accessibility score in order to determine where it currently stands and receive recommendations for improving course accessibility. Learn more about Anthology Ally.

Tips for Making Course Content Accessible:

  • Focus on Inclusive Design. Start with course design that benefits all learners, not just those with disabilities.
  • Use Accessible Headings and Styles. Features built into the tools we use every day can help leverage accessible document structures.
  • Use Descriptive Links. Instead of “Click Here” or displaying a full URL, use natural, descriptive text (such as the name of the linked resource).
  • Want to learn more? Check out the recording of our Beyond Accommodation: Enhancing Learning, Simplifying Teaching session from 10/16/25.
